Traffic control barriers are devices used to control access of vehicles to restricted areas. They are usually erected across roads leading to such areas as buildings, industries, government offices and hospitals. The purpose of installing traffic control barriers is to prevent entry of unauthorized vehicles to secured areas. When closed, the barriers block the road giving security officers the opportunity of examining the vehicle and its passengers.
Traffic control barriers are built to last for a long time and also require little maintenance. Effective barriers need to be visible in all weather conditions. To allow for this, traffic control barriers are usually made of high quality materials.
Bollards are built to last and help prevent cars from driving in areas meant for pedestrians. However, there are also several types of barrier bollard covers. Barrier bollard covers provide protection to your already durable bollards.
Superdome drums are designed in a manner that allows them to absorb shockwaves and impact rebounds caused by vehicles. They are shaped like a drum and, just like other traffic barriers, their bright colors make them reflective in nature. Superdome drums and traffic delineators can also be used in parking facilities in order to reduce parking damages.
In addition to traffic posts and superdome drums, other devices used for road safety are traffic cones and traffic panels. Traffic cones are cone shaped devices or markers that are used for the purpose of temporarily diverting traffic away from accidents, road repairs and other temporary security issues. They have reflective materials that improve their visibility. Traffic cones are easily movable, as they are light and stackable. Some traffic cones have a reflective strip around them.
Traffic panels are also used for temporary blockage of roads. They are light and reflective for easier visibility. Traffic panels, just like the traffic cones, are portable and easy to store.
Traffic posts, traffic delineators, bollards and all other devices mentioned above are used for the purpose of safety, especially at night and during the rainy seasons when visibility is limited. All the traffic control devices mentioned above are brightly colored to aid in visibility.
